Last weekend, geeks trooped to the SMX Convention Center in Manila for the AsiaPOP Comicon, the biggest comic and pop culture convention in the Philippines and the region. For three days, everyone got to buy local comics and illustrations, see the latest toys, and enjoy discounts on foreign graphic novels. One of the highlights of the convention is seeing international stars and interacting with them.

This year, AsiaPOP invited Nicholas Hoult from X-Men, Claire Holt from The Vampire Diaries, Joe Dempsie from Game of Thrones, and Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things. We got to join the media interview with Brown and found out plenty of things from the actress about chopping off her hair, what it was like working with Winona Ryder, and what’s in store for Eleven in season two.

Here’s what we found out:

She has an open mind for future roles, but she keeps getting bumped into sci-fi thrillers. Co-star Winona Ryder gives her tips during shoots. Brown said that she goes to Ryder if she has trouble with a scene or in delivering her role. She adds that Ryder is not a “criticizing person at all,” and is more about helping the young actress understand the scene. Brown said that they’re good friends!

Her message to her character Eleven? “Slow down with your eating because you could get indigestion!” In the series, Eleven’s favorite food is Eggo, a frozen waffle. In one scene, she grabs boxes of the stuff in a convenience store and walks out with it. When the manager tries to catch up with her, Eleven breaks the glass door.

She did not relate to Eleven in any way. Compared to the quiet and brooding character, Brown is upbeat and cheerful. Reading the script, she felt sorry for Eleven and wanted to be a part of the project. On the first day of shooting, she fell in love with Eleven.

Brown believes that the one trait she shares with Eleven is being caring. Her favorite episode is the first episode. She loved seeing all the characters. She also likes how it opens a lot of jars. Maybe like the chocolate pudding in the school cafeteria?
