10 Things I Learned About Love

Love – it’s a word that has been abused and overused. Sometimes, we don’t understand what we feel, so we always compare it to love. I must say, I am no love or relationship expert, but I just want to share some of the things that I’ve learned about love and what I realised about it the past ew years.

10 Things I Learned About Love

10. Love is a beautiful thing.

There is no argument here. Love is a beautiful thing. It should be nothing less than beautiful. It should make you feel all the beautiful feelings in the world.

9. Love doesn’t have to be complicated.

It’s complicated – that’s the usual phrase we see on social media. I don’t know how and when relationships became so complicated. Before, you were either single, in a relationship or married.

8. Love is not love if it alters when alteration finds. – William Shakespeare

Let me borrow a few words from a sonnet by William Shakespeare. “Love is not love, which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove. O no, it is an ever-fixed mark. That looks on tempests and is never shaken; It is the star to every wandering bark, whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.”

Love doesn’t disappear, it changes – but always for the better.

7. Love is (for)giving.

Love is never stubborn, it is giving and forgiving. It accepts the truth and makes the most of what life has to offer.

6. Love is what you make of it.

There are many people who will tell you what love is or how it should be. However, it is up to a person what they will make of it. You are the master of your own fate.

5. You will find love, one way or another.

#ForeverAlone, I have heard that so many times before. However, whether you are looking for someone to spend your life with or not, fate will step in and give you the love you deserve.

4. Love and life are meant to be shared.

Both love and life are not supposed to be lonely. They are meant to be shared, and should be something to make yourself and the people you love happy.

3. Love nurtures.

This is one of the things that is hard to find: a love that will help a person grow and be better.

2. Love is about give and take.

We have all heard this before, but have never acted on it. It is important that a person who gives also receives what is given out.

1.Love involves work.

I think this is something everyone understands. Love can be a lot of work, but it should be the kind that doesn’t tire you out.

We have all loved before and if we are lucky, we are still in love now. We have learned a lot, from our own experiences and even from the stories we witness everyday. What is the most important thing you learned about love, though? Share it with us in the comments section below!
