In case you haven’t heard yet, a ‘Devil Wears’ Prada’ musical is in the making and Elton John will even be writing a few songs for it. It goes without saying that ‘Devil Wears Prada’ is one of the most-loved movies of its time and as such, we can’t help but hope that some of our favorite scenes make it to the musical. We asked around and here are some scenes that people would especially love to see onstage:
10 ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Scenes We Hope Make It to the Musical
10. Miranda Priestley’s Entrance
This is where everything begins, after all, and you can’t listen to ‘Suddenly I See’ anymore without thinking about this scene.
9. Emily Blunt’s Joke About the Ugly Skirt Convention
Virgilio Martin says it’s “genuinely funny”.
8. The Manuscript Scene
Eros Enriquez says his favorite scene is when Andy drops off the Harry Potter manuscript on Miranda’s table and after she says “That’s all”, she turns around again to grab her Starbucks. Priceless reaction!
7. The Valentino Quote
“I refuse to be sick.I’m wearing Valentino, for crying out loud.” Arian Yupangco says this is one of her favorite lines from a movie ever.
6. Stanley Tucci’s Speech
Not only was this speech inspirational to many (since it proved to be a true eye opener), he also talks about how that job was like a shining beacon of hope to some. Because of this scene, Rione Palacios says, “My friends finally understood my fascination with fashion magazines. And wanting to work for one.”
5. The Hurricane Scene
Karla Bernales says it was just way too funny with the silhouette of the trees intensely swaying in the background.
4. The Chanel Boots Scene
Because we all love a good transformation. And as Aiya Rodjel point out: the boots are cute, too.
3. The Vogue Scene
No explanation needed.
2. The Cerulean Belt Scene
Rione Palacios beautifully explains it: “Friends–and viewers the world over–who always looked down on and pooh-poohed the fashion industry finally understood how this is a business and how it works.” Jessica Tinao, on the other hand, loves the scene for a completely different reason. Apparently, she laughed like Anne Hathaway, too, and felt bad afterwards.
1. “That’s all.”
There has to be a song entitled “That’s all”. There just has to be.
